AIS Exit Policy
Grades 7-9
A student in grades 7-9 can be exited from AIS if he/she
satisfies the following:
- The student has a score
of 3 or 4 on state assessments.
- The student is passing
all current classes with an average of 70 or higher.
- The student's teacher
has made the recommendation that he/she be exited from AIS.
- AIMSweb score is at or
above grade level.
- StarMath score is at or
above grade level.
Procedure:
- Student will contact
the Guidance Counselor and request to be removed from AIS.
- Guidance Counselor will
determine if student is passing all current classes with an average of 70%
or higher in each class.
- Guidance Counselor will
review the results of the state assessments.
- The Guidance Counselor
will review the AIMSweb score to determine if the student is working at or
above grade level.
- The Guidance Counselor
will review the StarMath score to determine if the student is working at
or above grade level.
- The Guidance Counselor
will contact the student's teacher(s) to determine if the teacher recommends
the student be exited from AIS.
- If the student
satisfies the requirements for exiting AIS, the Guidance Counselor will
complete the attached form and give a copy to the student and the AIS
teacher.
- The Guidance Counselor
will complete the paperwork necessary to add/drop the student from the
scheduled AIS class.
- The AIS teacher will
complete the paperwork to exit the student from AIS and send notification
for ending services to parent/guardian.
