AIS Exit Policy

Grades 7-9

A student in grades 7-9 can be exited from AIS if he/she satisfies the following:

  1. The student has a score of 3 or 4 on state assessments.
  2. The student is passing all current classes with an average of 70 or higher.
  3. The student's teacher has made the recommendation that he/she be exited from AIS.
  4. AIMSweb score is at or above grade level.
  5. StarMath score is at or above grade level.

Procedure:

  1. Student will contact the Guidance Counselor and request to be removed from AIS.
  2. Guidance Counselor will determine if student is passing all current classes with an average of 70% or higher in each class.
  3. Guidance Counselor will review the results of the state assessments.
  4. The Guidance Counselor will review the AIMSweb score to determine if the student is working at or above grade level.
  5. The Guidance Counselor will review the StarMath score to determine if the student is working at or above grade level.
  6. The Guidance Counselor will contact the student's teacher(s) to determine if the teacher recommends the student be exited from AIS.
  7. If the student satisfies the requirements for exiting AIS, the Guidance Counselor will complete the attached form and give a copy to the student and the AIS teacher.
  8. The Guidance Counselor will complete the paperwork necessary to add/drop the student from the scheduled AIS class.
  9. The AIS teacher will complete the paperwork to exit the student from AIS and send notification for ending services to parent/guardian.
